Navigator Fiduciary team members each have more than 20 years of experience working with aging seniors and people with special needs.
Judy Enders, CPA, CFE, MBA, President: Judy brings over 30 years of experience as a leader, managing teams to serve clients on various business issues, most recently spending more than eleven years at CliftonLarsonAllen, a national top ten accounting firm serving multiple industries, including healthcare. Judy Enders founded Navigator Fiduciary and Forensic Services in Minnesota in 2017 to enhance the lives of aging seniors and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Judy identified a need for a firm that would address not just the accounting needs of at-risk individuals but also provide a range of support services for family members who require support with a view to all their needs. As she began recruiting other people for the Navigator Fiduciary team, Judy prioritized finding experienced professionals with the same passion for serving.
Jesse Heckman, Director of Guardianship Services: Jesse has worked with people with disabilities for over 20 years. He has regularly supported people with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, and mental illnesses. For example, Jesse worked with a client who suffered a traumatic brain injury, helping him learn how to walk again. Jesse’s clients have benefited from his help teaching money management, cooking, laundry, and personal care skills. He also works closely with county caseworkers and families to support clients with problem behaviors. Before coming to Navigator Fiduciary, Jesse managed a group home in the Shakopee area for Partnerships for MN Futures and BridgesMN. These organizations provided employment training and supported living for people with disabilities. Jesse is passionate about helping aging seniors and people with disabilities to live their best lives.
Melissa (Missy) Cummings, Director of Conservator Services: Missy believes in a person-centered approach to supporting seniors and people with special needs. Her more than 20 years of work with programs providing respite care, day programs, and supported living have prepared her for leading conservator services at Navigator Fiduciary. In addition to Missy’s extensive experience, she has personal experience supporting a friend with personal representative responsibilities after her mother's passing. In addition, she helped her grandparents move to memory care and the management of their financial resources. Missy shares that working with families to ensure they can all get on the same page for care is critical to her job.
Sue Wittkop, Controller: Sue Wittkop, Controller: Sue has 40 years of in accounting, budgeting, and administrative service, including time spent serving seniors and low-income individuals as an AARP volunteer tax preparer. Sue's extensive educational background includes an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. Her superpower is managing numbers and information in the service of those who have special needs.
Nancy Hanson, CPA: Nancy has worked in the accounting and accounting technology field for over 30 years and has worked as a controller for several organizations in Minnesota. Nancy and her brother shared the responsibility for supporting her mom after her father passed away. This became even more complex when moving her into a memory care unit as the result of a fall and cognitive decline became more apparent. Eventually, she fell and broke her hip and passed away shortly after. Armed with the knowledge of what it took to support her mom emotionally and financially, Nancy decided to take her accounting and personal experience to help other families with aging parents and family members with special needs. At Navigator Fiduciary, Nancy is responsible for conservator client accounting and the required financial reporting.
David Sherman has spent over 30 years working with people living with cognitive and physical disabilities. He provides direction, support, advice and advocacy to individuals and families who are navigating disabilities. He focuses on addressing specific gaols and needs of the individual. His clients have peace of mind knowing that they are supported on their journey.
Kristi Bermel, Admin/Bookeeper: Kristi knows the challenges that our families face. She has a child with a developmental disability and is looking to have a hand in creating a more inclusive world for him. She has more than 15 years of expertise and is a valuable member of the team.
